Rollins Bulldog Tools for Roofing

About

Bulldog hand tools have been manufactured through eight reigns of British Monarchs dating back to 1780. The first tools came out of the company’s forge when George III was on the throne and the USA was just four years old. Several companies have owned Bulldog over the years, one of the most innovative being A&F Parkes & Co. Francis Parkes produced three entirely new spades in the 1840s, exhibited the first steel forks at the Great Exhibition of 1862 and invented the first all steel shovel. The Factory has been an important part of Wigan over the years, providing jobs for many people in the local community. It is quite common for several generations of the same family to have worked for the company, with some employees tracing their family ties back over four generations.

Bulldog’s solid forged tools are hand made by skilled craftsmen. The blade and socket, which are the most important parts of any spade are made from one piece of steel; no welds, no weak points. The handles are made from high quality sustainable ash. They are hand turned in Bulldog’s own wood working department then bury the shaft deep within the socket to produce an incredibly strong tool. Each tool easily exceeds British Standards and is backed by our lifetime guarantee.
